Well we had the last coastal region tournament on june.8,2013 at Lake Nacimiento.Upon my arrival at the lake on the evening before the tournament,I started making my rounds through the campgrounds signing up the teams that had prefished and were staying in the lake for the night. The word from everyone was that there were plenty of fish to catch but getting the size was the biggest problem. So first thing in the morning we headed out to do signups, and when signups were all said and done we had 23 teams ready to do battle for the last season tournament.I got all the teams off and running to get to their first stop of the day a few of which were within sight of the ramp. After watching them for the first hour and seeing quite a few fish boated,it looked like it was going to be a good tournament.Around 1:30 it was time to get rolling with setup and the scales. As soon as I got setup boats started to roll in to the ramp, and the weigh in was underway. When the smoke cleared the team of Matt Clausen and Troy Tidwell pulled off the victory with a limit of fish for 9.65lbs. In second place the team of David E. Reed and Timothy Nishikubo with a limit of fish for 8.24lbs. In third place was Ty McCutcheon and Brian Beckham with a limit for 7.13lbs. In fourth was the team of John Beckett and John Flynn with a limit for 6.42lbs. After we did the weigh in we then did some raffle prizes,The 20/20 eye surrender went to Mike Garza and Elliott Dozier. we gave out two Batrums gift certificates and the winner of those were Matt Clausen and Troy Tidwell also the team of Eddie Davidson and Matt Messina.During the batrums raffle we had the man himself that donated all the Batrums certificates,Mr. Eric Batrum in the audience. He said some very kind words to all of us and he is going to continue the support going into next year,so if you have any boat needs be sure to contact him.The winners of a gift bag were Matt E. boyd and Rodney R. Kirby. I want to thank everyone that supported this region this year and I hope to see all of you and more next season. Sponsor Tackle Store Receipts Program – If you purchase tackle valued at $20 OR MORE from our Sponsor Tackle Stores or go online to make purchases through the Optimum Baits and ima websites, you will receive a discount for being a member of the BBT.
